Tips

Free ferry trip across the river

Take a moment to cross the river by riding the ferry between the “Stenpiren” and “Lindholmen” or “Lundbystrand” stops. You can use either ferry 286 or 287. Ferry 286 operates throughout the week while ferry 287 runs Monday to Friday, and both are free of charge!

Cheap boat trip on the river

If you have some available time you can use the public transport to do a boat trip on the river from the stop “Lilla bommens hamn” or “Stenpiren” to “Klippans färjeläge” with ferry 285. It’s about a 30 minutes tour where you can see the western parts of the city and where the river meets the sea . You can go back with the same boat or jump off at any stop and take a look at the surroundings.

The trip has the public transport single ticket fee of 36 SEK.

Cheap boat trip to the Gothenburg archipelago

A day off in Gothenburg?

Our best tip is to visit the beautiful Gothenburg archipelago. The car free islands in the southern archipelago can easily be explored on a day trip. Visit islands such as Brännö, Styrsö, Vrångö or Köpstadsö. Take the tram/bus from the city centre to the ferries at Saltholmen.  The ferry fee is included in the tram/bus ticket to Saltholmen at a cost of 36 SEK.
